Quality, military-issue machetes feature shatterproof handle. Constructed of 0.125” thick carbon steel treated with black oxide coating. Handle made of flame-resistant thermalset plastic with three steel compression rivets and thong hole. Available with or without hand guard. Made in the U.S.A.

I have been using the 22" machete on my land surveying crews for years. I have tried several brands over the years; hands down, the best. I don't like that they are now double what they first cost! Hah.

Great machete, very solid and holds up in cold weather. Rivets on the handle dont seem to last, but they hold up better than the Seymour.

The sheath arrived sooner than expected; which is always a good thing. It appears to be of a good design and quality...nothing fancy; but then; its a sheath! Sizing (I got the 18in version) was spot-on.

This is the best machete I have used. Stiff enough and heavy enough to cut through larger branches, but not too heavy.
The leather sheath is a problem though - if you are in a hot, humid climate and are wearing it against your sweaty clothes, the leather eventually gets too soft and the belt loop fails by pulling out of the rivets. Stitching would solve the problem.

Does this Machet come with a sheath.
The sheath for the 22" Ontario Machete has to be purchased separately. It is Item #33623.
What letters and numbers are stamped on blade?
The only thing stamped on the blade is "Ontario Knife" and "U.S."
